Flatness and parallelism
The specified values determine how many passes, how the part is held, and whether stress relief between passes is needed.
Finish requirement
A finer specified finish means slower wheel work and possibly a different wheel, which is reflected in the quote.
Material and hardness
Hardness affects wheel selection and grind time. Grinding after heat treat is normal and expected here.
Number of ground faces
Grinding one face is not the same job as squaring all six. Tell us which surfaces are controlled.
Stock allowance
Tell us how much grind stock is on the part. Too little leaves no room to correct; too much adds time.
Distortion risk
Thin or unbalanced parts can move. Workholding and pass strategy are chosen to hold the callout, and that is priced in.
