What files should I upload for a machining quote?

A drawing or print is the most important file. A CAD model (STEP is easiest to work with) helps, along with material, quantity, finish, and tolerance notes.

Can you quote from a PDF drawing only?

Yes. A fully dimensioned PDF drawing is enough to quote most parts. If a feature is unclear without a model, we will ask.

What if I am not sure which process is needed?

Select “Not sure” on the quote form. Part of the review is deciding whether the work is milling, turning, Wire EDM, grinding, or a combination.

Can you handle prototype and production quantities?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Send the prototype quantity and any production quantity you expect, and both can be priced so you can compare.

Do I need a CAD model?

Accepted Answer

Not always. A model speeds up review and reduces back-and-forth on complex geometry, but a complete drawing is workable on its own.

Can you quote Wire EDM and grinding work?

Yes. Wire EDM and surface grinding are quoted directly, both as standalone work and as operations inside a larger machined part.

How quickly will I receive a response?

We review requests promptly and respond with either a quote or a specific clarification question. We do not publish a guaranteed turnaround time we cannot hold to on every package.

What happens if information is missing?

You get a short list of exactly what is needed — material condition, a missing tolerance, a quantity break — rather than a guess buried in the price.
